Vietnam is frequently ravaged by typhoons, also known as tropical cyclones, which strike the country almost every year, particularly between June and November. These powerful storms originate in the Western Pacific and bring devastating winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surges that cause widespread flooding, landslides, and coastal erosion. Central and northern provinces often suffer the most, with agricultural fields destroyed, homes swept away, and vital infrastructure damaged. In recent decades, climate change has intensified their frequency and strength, leading to greater economic losses and displacement of communities. Despite improved early warning systems and disaster preparedness, typhoons remain one of Vietnam’s most formidable natural challenges
