The pie charts illustrate the main sources of news for teenagers, young adults and old people based on a survey conducted in 2022. Overall, television was the most popular source of news among young adults and old people, while teenagers mainly relied on online news sites.

In detail, more than half of teenagers (52%) got their news from online sources, followed by television at 37%. Printed newspapers and other sources were far less popular among this group, accounting for only 7% and 4% respectively. For young adults, television remained the leading source at 35%, closely followed by online news sites at 33%. Other sources made up just over a quarter, whereas printed newspapers were the least preferred option.

By contrast, old people showed a strong preference for traditional media. Television accounted for 42% of their news consumption, and nearly a third relied on printed newspapers. Online news sites were the least popular choice among this age group.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Re: Application for the position of a part-time receptionist

I am writing to apply for the position of part-time receptionist at Viet Organic Garden. I am currently a high school student, and I am able to work at weekends as required. Last summer, I worked as a front-desk assistant at a small café, where I welcomed guests, answered phone calls and helped manage reservations.

I consider myself a friendly, hard-working and responsible person. I have good communication skills in both English and Vietnamese, and I am confident using computers and basic office software. I believe these skills will help me contribute positively to your team. I would be delighted to have the opportunity to work in your professional and eco-friendly environment.

I am available for an interview on weekday afternoons or any time at weekends. If my application is successful, I will be able to start work from 1 August 2024.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Ly

Nowadays, more and more young Vietnamese people celebrate festivals such as Christmas and Halloween. Some people worry that these events may negatively affect our culture. However, I believe that there is nothing wrong with this trend.

Firstly, celebrating foreign festivals brings young people joy and relaxation. Events like Christmas and Halloween create a fun and exciting atmosphere. Students can dress up, exchange gifts, and join games, which helps them reduce stress after long days of studying. These celebrations also provide opportunities for friends and families to spend quality time together.

Secondly, taking part in international festivals helps young people broaden their horizons. By learning about the customs of other countries, they become more open-minded and respectful of cultural diversity. In today’s globalized world, this knowledge is very useful for communication and cooperation with people from different backgrounds.

In conclusion, I believe that celebrating foreign festivals does not harm Vietnamese culture. As long as young people also preserve traditional celebrations like Tet or the Mid-Autumn Festival, joining events such as Christmas or Halloween can enrich their cultural life.
