Topic 1: Describe what you like about Tet.
Tet is my favorite festival of the year because it is the most important and meaningful time in Vietnam. What I like most about Tet is the warm family atmosphere. Before Tet, everyone is busy cleaning the house, decorating with peach blossoms or apricot flowers, and preparing special food together. This makes me feel excited and closer to my family.
Another thing I love about Tet is the traditional food. My favorite dish is banh chung. It is not only delicious but also has a special meaning about gratitude and family. I enjoy sitting with my family, eating Tet food, and sharing stories from the past year.
I also like Tet because of the lucky money, or li xi. It is fun to receive red envelopes from adults, and they always give us good wishes for health and success. However, more than the money, I value the kind words and blessings.
Finally, Tet gives me time to relax after a busy school year and to hope for a good new beginning. That is why Tet is very special to me.
Topic 2: Describe your neighbourhood.
My neighbourhood is a quiet and friendly place where I feel very comfortable living. It is not very crowded, so the air is quite fresh and peaceful. Most people here know each other, and everyone is kind and helpful. When I walk around, many neighbors smile and greet me, which makes me feel welcome.
There are small shops near my house, such as a grocery store, a bakery, and a café. They are very convenient because I can easily buy daily necessities. In the evening, the streets become lively. Children play outside, and adults often exercise or chat together.
What I like most about my neighbourhood is the safety. My parents feel安心 letting me go out to play or buy things nearby. There are also many trees along the roads, making the area greener and more beautiful.
Overall, my neighbourhood is a great place to live because it is peaceful, friendly, and comfortable. I feel happy and relaxed whenever I am at home.
My favorite natural wonder in Vietnam is Ha Long Bay. It is located in Quang Ninh Province and is one of the most beautiful places in our country. What makes Ha Long Bay special is the thousands of limestone islands rising from the emerald green sea. The scenery looks magical, especially in the early morning.
Topic 3
I really like the calm and fresh atmosphere there. When you take a boat trip, you can enjoy the cool breeze and admire caves, floating villages, and clear water. Some famous caves, such as Sung Sot Cave, are very impressive and attract many tourists.
Ha Long Bay is also a great place for activities like kayaking, swimming, and taking photos. Every time I see pictures of Ha Long Bay, I feel proud of Vietnam’s natural beauty.
In my opinion, Ha Long Bay is not only a wonderful tourist destination but also a natural treasure that we should protect for future generations.

Hi William
Tet is my favourite holiday. Before Tet, my family cleans and decorates our house. On Tet days, we visit relatives, give lucky money, and enjoy traditional food together. We also watch fireworks and wish each other good luck.

Dear William
As you may know, Tet is coming pretty soon, probably on February. In Vietnam, we have many customs during Tet such as giving rice to wish for enough food or buy salt for luckiness. Of course you might think it's pretty strange about that. Have you ever heard of the legend of banh chung? You haven't? Well, here is the story:
"Long ago, the Hùng King wanted to choose a successor. He asked his many sons to prepare a meaningful dish to offer their ancestors—the one with the most meaningful offering would become king.
Most princes searched for rare and expensive foods. Lang Liêu, the poorest prince, could not afford such things. One night, he dreamed of a god who told him that rice—which feeds the people—was the most precious gift of all.
Inspired, Lang Liêu created:
- Bánh chưng: a square cake made of sticky rice, mung beans, and pork, wrapped in green leaves
→ It represents the Earth - (He also made bánh dày, a round cake, representing the Sky)
- When Lang Liêu presented bánh chưng, the king was deeply moved by its simplicity and symbolism:
- Rice shows gratitude for agriculture
- The square shape reflects the ancient Vietnamese view of the world
- The ingredients represent harmony between nature and people
Because of this, Lang Liêu was chosen as the next king.
Bánh chưng is still made every year for Tết (Vietnamese Lunar New Year). It represents:
- Family unity
- Gratitude to ancestors
- Vietnamese cultural identity''
What about your families New year celebration. Write me back tomorrow
Yours faithfully

The people that my father usually talks to in the morning are the neighbors. We live in a quiet part of the neighborhood, but sometimes at night there are karaoke booming with drunk men or men who only wanted to sing for a while. The sound interrupt the sleep of the people around it. It feels terrible.
