Tet Nguyen Dan, also known as Tet, is the most important holiday of the year for Vietnamese people. For me, Tet is not just a holiday but also a rich cultural experience, full of wonderful things that I always look forward to.

The first thing I love about Tet is the special atmosphere it brings. In the days leading up to Tet, the streets become vibrant with flags, lanterns, and stalls selling all kinds of goods. The scent of apricot blossoms, peach blossoms, banh chung (traditional rice cake), and traditional dishes like braised pork and fried spring rolls permeates the air, awakening all the senses. This warm, cheerful, and cozy atmosphere makes me feel energized and ready to fight.

Next, I really enjoy the traditional activities that take place during Tet. Preparing and decorating the house, from cleaning and whitewashing to hanging red couplets and arranging the five-fruit tray, is an indispensable part of the celebration. I enjoy making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) with my family, a symbol of Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year), and waiting for them to cook. New Year's Eve is a moment of celebration, when everyone welcomes the new year, watches fireworks, and wishes each other good fortune. Visiting relatives, receiving lucky money, and meeting friends and family are also activities I look forward to.

Furthermore, Tet carries a profound cultural significance. It's an occasion for family reunions, expressing gratitude to ancestors, and wishing for good things in the new year. Tet is an opportunity for us to appreciate and promote the beautiful values of our nation. It reminds us of our roots, of love and the bonds within our families and communities.
