More young Vietnamese people are opting for Christmas and Halloween nowadays. Some people approve, while others are worried about the effects of foreign cultures. I think this is not too big of a problem if young people know how to keep balance.
Firstly, it will be enjoyable for them. Young people can wear costumes; make gifts; or, join parties etc. These kinds of things will make them feel enjoyable to relieve stress from study. They can also learn something about other countries and can become more open-minded.
However, there are some disadvantages. Young people may forget their traditional festivals such as Tet: or, Mid-Autumn Festival; when they care only about Christmas or Halloween. These traditional festivals are very important because they show Vietnamese culture and family values, losing our culture and values would be a mistake.
In conclusion, I think it is not wrong to celebrate foreign cultures such as Christmas or Halloween, but young people should not forget Vietnamese traditions. Both types of culture can be explored and that makes us richer.
