In recent years, many young Vietnamese have embraced festivals like Christmas and Halloween. While some worry about the loss of traditional values, I believe there is nothing wrong with celebrating these foreign holidays.First, festivals like Christmas and Halloween offer fun and new experiences. They bring people together through decorations, costumes, and events, creating a joyful atmosphere that appeals especially to the youth. These celebrations also encourage creativity and social interaction.Second, participating in foreign festivals does not mean forgetting Vietnamese traditions. Young people still celebrate Tet, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and other important cultural events. Embracing global culture can exist alongside preserving national identity. In fact, experiencing different customs can help young people become more open-minded and globally aware. Finally, globalization is a part of modern life. Cultural exchange is inevitable and often enriching. Instead of fearing it, we should guide young people to understand and respect both foreign and local traditions. In conclusion, celebrating festivals like Christmas and Halloween is a positive trend. It shows Vietnam’s openness to the world while maintaining its unique cultural identity.
