Mount Everest is a natural wonder located on the border between Nepal and China, in the Himalayas. It stands at a height of 8,848 m above sea level, making it the highest point on Earth above sea level. The mountain is sacred to the locals, who call it "Sagarmatha" in Nepalese and "Chomolungma" in Tibetan. Around 3,000 people have successfully climbed to the summit. The first people to achieve this feat were Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay from Nepal in 1953. The best time to visit is from April to early June and September to November, when weather conditions are more favorable. To visit, you can fly to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, then travel to Lukla before beginning a 14-day hike to Everest Base Camp, including acclimatization stops along the way.
