In recent years, many young Vietnamese people have shown great interest in celebrating foreign festivals such as Christmas and Halloween. Some people welcome this change, while others are worried that it may affect traditional culture. In my opinion, this trend has both benefits and risks, but it should not be seen as entirely negative.

On the one hand, festivals like Christmas and Halloween provide young people with opportunities to enjoy themselves, socialize, and experience new cultural activities. For example, dressing up on Halloween or exchanging gifts at Christmas allows them to express creativity and strengthen friendships. In addition, joining in global celebrations helps Vietnamese youth become more open-minded and integrated into international culture, which is important in a globalized world.

On the other hand, if young people pay too much attention to foreign festivals, they may neglect traditional ones such as Tết Trung Thu or Tết Nguyên Đán. This could weaken cultural identity and reduce respect for national values.

In conclusion, celebrating foreign festivals is not a problem as long as young people also preserve and promote Vietnamese traditions. Balance is the key to cultural development.
