Nowadays, more and more young Vietnamese people celebrate foreign festivals such as Christmas and Halloween. Some people believe this is a positive trend, while others are concerned about the influence of foreign cultures. Personally, I think celebrating these festivals brings more benefits than drawbacks. First of all, joining in international celebrations helps young people broaden their horizons. By taking part in activities like decorating Christmas trees or wearing Halloween costumes, they can learn about different traditions and values from other countries. This cultural exchange makes them more open-minded and adaptable in a globalized world. Secondly, these festivals create opportunities for social connection and entertainment. Many young people gather with friends, enjoy parties, and share happy moments during these events. Such experiences reduce stress and strengthen relationships, which is important for their mental well-being. Of course, some people worry that Vietnamese traditions may be overshadowed. However, I believe that as long as we continue to cherish and preserve important national festivals like Tet or Mid-Autumn Festival, foreign festivals will not replace our culture. Instead, they can coexist and enrich our social life. In conclusion, celebrating Christmas, Halloween, or other foreign festivals is a positive way for young Vietnamese people to enjoy life, expand knowledge, and connect with others.
