My favorite community helper is a firefighter. His job is to put out fires and rescue people from dangerous situations. He wears a heavy yellow helmet, a thick jacket, and sturdy boots. He is brave, calm, and kind; he always helps others without thinking about himself. Every day he trains, checks equipment, and responds quickly when people call for help. Firefighters also teach fire safety to children and help during floods and accidents. I feel very grateful and proud of him because his work keeps our neighborhood safe and he inspires me to be brave and helpful too.
