In 1960, most Vietnamese people lived in rural areas, accounting for about 85% of the total population. However, from 1960 to 1980, this figure started to decrease slightly. From 1990 onwards, the downward trend became more rapid, falling to approximately 63% by 2020.

By contrast, the urban population rose throughout the same period. In 1960, only about 15% of people lived in cities. In 1980, the rate grew slowly to nearly 20%. From 1990, urbanization accelerated significantly. By 2010, the urban population reached 30% and continued to climb to 37% in 2020. In conclusion, Viet Nam has seen a clear shift from a predominantly rural society to a more urbanized one.

Disney had four brothers and one sister. He married Lillian Bounds and they had two daughters.
