The Lunar New Year is the most important traditional festival in Vietnam. It usually lasts from the end of the twelfth lunar month to the end of the first lunar month. Before Tet, people clean and decorate their houses, buy new clothes, and prepare traditional foods such as banh chung. During Tet, family members gather together, visit relatives, and go to pagodas to pray for good luck. Children also receive lucky money. Tet marks the beginning of a new year and shows respect for ancestors as well as family bonds. It can be affirmed that Tet is a meaningful and special time for everyone.
