Nowadays, more and more young Vietnamese people are enthusiastically adopting festivals like Christmas and Halloween, yet in my opinion, this trend carries negative impacts on the youth of Vietnam.

Firstly, the increasing popularity of foreign festivals may encourage unnecessary consumerism among young people. Festivals like Christmas and Halloween have become heavily commercialized, promoting the purchase of decorations, costumes, and gifts. This consumer-driven culture can lead to overspending and financial strain, especially among impressionable youth.

Secondly, the emphasis on foreign festivals may result in the erosion of local cultural identity. As young Vietnamese individuals prioritize celebrating international holidays, they may neglect or even forget about their own cultural traditions and customs. This loss of cultural heritage can weaken the sense of national identity and cohesion among the youth.

Finally, the adoption of foreign festivals may lead to the homogenization of global culture, diminishing the diversity and richness of local traditions. As more countries embrace Western holidays like Christmas and Halloween, unique cultural practices and celebrations risk fading into obscurity.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that while the celebration of foreign festivals may seem appealing, it ultimately brings about negative consequences for young Vietnamese people.
