Walt Disney is famous around the world for creating Mickey Mouse and building a global entertainment empire. He was a pioneer in animation and storytelling, whose work continues to inspire people of all ages.

He was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois. As a child, he loved drawing and cartoons. He attended McKinley High School in Chicago and later studied art and photography. His early interest in animation led him to a lifelong career in film.

Disney was a very successful film-maker who created many beloved characters, including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. He also produced the first full-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which became a major hit. Apart from films, he was also famous for founding Disneyland and Walt Disney World — theme parks that continue to attract millions of visitors each year.

He had four brothers and one sister, and later had two daughters with his wife, Lillian.

Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966, but The Walt Disney Studios continues to thrive, producing movies and experiences enjoyed worldwide.
