Walt Disney is famous around the world for being the creator of Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney was born in Chicago, in 1901. He attended Brenton Grammar School, but he dropped out (aged 16). He was a very successful film maker, who created Mickey Mouse in 1928, a character that quickly became a global icon. Apart from making films, he was also famous for building Disneyland, the first theme park of its kind, which opened in 1955. His work won him 26 Oscar, 3 Golden Globe Awards, 1 Emmy Awards. He had three older brothers and a young sister, wife Lilian Bounds and two daughters (one biological and one adopted). Walt Disney died in 1966 because cancer.
