Walt Disney is famous around the world for making a lot of impressive films, which have been loved by children and adults for generations.
Childhood and Education
He was born in 1901 in Chicago, the United States. He attended Brenton Grammar School, where he studied art and photography, but he soon dropped out at the age of 16.
Achievements
He was a very successful film-maker, who created Mickey Mouse, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs and many other beloved characters.
Apart from making films, he was also famous for being the founder of Disneyland in 1955 , the first theme park of its kind, in which fans could meet their favorite Disney characters and experience magical adventures.
Throughout his career, Walt Disney had achieved 26 Oscars, 3 Golden Globe Awards, 1 Memmy Award - a record in history
Family
He had three older brothers and a younger sister. He married wife Lillian Bounds, and they were together for 41 years. They had one biological daughter and one adopted daughter.
Death and the continued success of The Walt Disney Studios
He died in 1966 in California because of lung cancer. After his death, The Walt Disney Studios continued to grow, creating successful films and expanding Disneyland into Walt Disney World and other parks worldwide.
