Given is a line graph demonstrating the population tendencies in Viet Nam from 1960 to 2020. A glance at the figure reveals that the urban population has gone up and will continue grow whilst the rural population tends to decrease and will continue fall. In terms of 1960, 15 per cent of Vietnamese populations lived in urban areas. This figure was rose gradually, more than that for 1960 (4%). By 1980, the percentage of Vietnamese population was increased significantly and until in 2010, the figure for urban population was double than that for 1960. The highest is was 37 per cent from the proportion of 2020 urban inhabitants in 2020. By contrast, the rural inhabitants fell throughout the same period. Regarding 1960, 85 per cent or most of VietNam’s population lived in rural areas. This figure went down slightly for 1980 and 1990 were 81% and 80% respectively. From 2010, the percentage of rural residents plummeted at 70% .The downward trend continued and in 2020, only 63 per cent lived in rural areas.
