Nowadays, more and more young Vietnamese people celebrate festivals such as Christmas and Halloween. Some people argue that this is a positive trend, while others worry about the strong influence of foreign cultures. In my opinion, celebrating these festivals brings more benefits than drawbacks.
Firstly, taking part in international celebrations encourages cultural exchange. Young Vietnamese people have the chance to learn about new customs, traditions, and values. For example, Christmas teaches the importance of sharing, giving, and family bonds, which are universal and meaningful for everyone.
Secondly, these festivals provide joy and entertainment. They give young people the opportunity to relax, dress up, join parties, and enjoy the festive spirit with their friends and family. Such activities help strengthen social connections and create happy memories.
Finally, celebrating international festivals can develop creativity and teamwork. Organising Halloween events or Christmas activities requires cooperation, planning, and problem-solving, which are useful skills for young people in modern society.
In conclusion, I believe that celebrating foreign festivals like Christmas and Halloween has a positive impact. As long as young Vietnamese people still value their traditional culture, these festivals can enrich their lives without threatening national identity.
