In recent years, it has become common for young Vietnamese people to celebrate festivals like Christmas and Halloween. Some people worry that these celebrations may negatively affect Vietnamese culture, while others believe they are harmless and even beneficial. In my opinion, celebrating these festivals is generally positive, as long as we maintain our traditional values. Firstly, participating in international festivals can be a fun way for young people to socialize, express creativity, and learn about other cultures. For example, dressing up for Halloween or exchanging gifts at Christmas can help students develop teamwork and communication skills. Secondly, exposure to foreign cultures can broaden horizons and make young people more open-minded, which is essential in a globalized world. However, it is important not to neglect Vietnamese traditions. We should celebrate foreign festivals alongside our own cultural events, such as Tet or the Mid-Autumn Festival, so that young people can appreciate both local and global cultures. In conclusion, foreign festivals should be welcomed as a form of cultural exchange, not seen as a threat to out heritage.
