Living in a smart city, which utilizes advanced technology to improve urban life, presents both notable advantages and disadvantages for its residents. On the one hand, the primary benefits revolve around increased efficiency and safety: smart infrastructure streamlines daily tasks, from traffic flow and parking to the optimization of public services, while sophisticated monitoring systems enhance public security by enabling rapid response to emergencies. However, on the other hand, these conveniences come with serious drawbacks, primarily concerning privacy and accessibility. The continuous collection of personal data raises significant data security concerns, and the high cost of implementing and maintaining smart technology often creates a digital divide, potentially leaving non-tech-savvy or low-income residents excluded from the benefits of the city. Ultimately, although smart cities promise a more convenient and safer future, planners must actively address the ethical and social challenges to ensure that the technological advancements truly benefit all segments of the population.
