In today’s digital world, teenagers spend many hours in front of screens, either for study or entertainment. Some people believe that parents should strictly limit teenagers’ screen time, while others think it is unnecessary. In my opinion, parents should limit it for several reasons.

First, too much screen time leaves teenagers little time for homework and other useful activities. Many young people spend hours watching online videos, checking social media, or playing computer games instead of studying. As a result, their academic performance may decline.

Second, excessive screen time is harmful to teenagers’ health. It can damage their eyesight, reduce their sleep time, and even cause weight gain. For instance, if teenagers spend all evening on their phones or computers, they may not get enough rest or exercise.

On the other hand, some argue that quality of screen time is more important than quantity. Teenagers can actually learn useful knowledge and necessary skills through online courses, educational games, or videos. Strict limits may also make them feel that their parents do not understand them, which could widen the gap between generations.

In conclusion, while screen time can be beneficial if used wisely, I strongly believe that parents should still set clear limits. By doing so, they can help their children balance study, health, and entertainment in a healthier way.
