The Pros and Cons of Self-Study
Independent learning often involves self-study—learning at home without a teacher. This method has become increasingly popular with the rise of digital resources. Let’s look at the advantages and disadvantages of this approach. First of all, self-study gives learners the flexibility to choose their own pace and schedule. This freedom makes learners more responsible for their own progress. Secondly, it allows students to focus on specific areas they find difficult rather than following a general class curriculum. Finally, self-study is often more cost-effective as it eliminates tuition fees. On the other hand, self-studying can be challenging due to a lack of professional guidance. In addition, it requires high levels of self-discipline. For example, without a fixed schedule, many students struggle with procrastination. Finally, the lack of social interaction can lead to feelings of isolation and fewer opportunities for peer-to-peer discussion. In conclusion, self-study has both benefits and drawbacks. Learners should understand both sides to determine if they have the discipline required to succeed without a classroom structure.
Title: New Horizons Welcome Social Recipient : The Head of Student Affairs Date: November 30, 2025 Writer : The International Student Association (ISA) We would like to propose the "New Horizons Welcome Social"—a specialized event designed to officially welcome all incoming international students for the Spring 2026 semester. This proposal aims to secure approval and necessary resources to host a successful and inclusive event. Details about the Idea/Project The event will be a relaxed, informal evening designed to facilitate networking and cultural exchange. Time: Friday, January 10, 2026, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Location: University Grand Hall, Room 101 Welcome Address by the Dean of Students. Icebreaker Games to encourage interaction. "Campus Survival" Presentation by senior international students (tips on navigating the university and city). Light Refreshments (including vegetarian/halal options). Goals and Benefits The New Horizons Welcome Social is a good one because it directly addresses the social and informational needs of our new students, offering significant Facilitate Adaptation: It will help new students adjust to the campus and local culture, reducing initial stress and feelings of isolation. Build Community: It will provide an immediate platform for students from diverse backgrounds to connect with each other and with current students, fostering a strong international community. Improve Retention: A strong, welcoming start is crucial for student satisfaction and is proven to positively impact long-term academic success and retention rates. We believe the New Horizons Welcome Social is an essential and valuable investment in our new international student body. We urge the Head of Student Affairs to consider and approve this proposal as soon as possible to allow the ISA to begin logistical preparations for the event in January.
The rapid development of technology has led to the emergence of smart cities, which use digital innovations to enhance performance and wellbeing. This essay will explore the numerous benefits, such as improved efficiency and sustainability, as well as the notable drawbacks, primarily concerning privacy, of residing in such technologically advanced urban areas.On the one hand, living in a smart city offers several significant advantages that enhance the quality of life. Firstly, smart technologies lead to vastly improved efficiency and convenience. For example, intelligent traffic management systems and real-time navigation reduce congestion, making commutes faster and less stressful. Secondly, smart cities often promote greater environmental sustainability. By integrating smart grids, energy-efficient buildings, and advanced waste management, these cities significantly reduce energy consumption and pollution, contributing to a cleaner, healthier living environment for all residents.However, there are considerable challenges that come with this digital advancement. One common issue is the potential invasion of privacy. The extensive network of sensors, cameras, and data collection systems necessary for a smart city’s operation means that personal activities are constantly monitored, leading to a pervasive sense of being watched. Moreover, the heavy reliance on technology creates vulnerability. A system malfunction, a power outage, or a sophisticated cyberattack could potentially disrupt essential public services, such as healthcare or transport, causing widespread chaos and rendering the entire city infrastructure temporarily useless.In conclusion, living in a smart city presents a dual-edged experience. While the benefits of heightened efficiency, convenience, and environmental stewardship are transformative for urban life, they are counterbalanced by serious concerns over personal privacy and technological vulnerability. Ultimately, I believe that the benefits outweigh the risks, provided that strong legislative and technological safeguards are implemented to protect citizens’ data and ensure the reliability of the core systems.

Hiệu suất hệ thống là : 66,67 %
Tóm tắt
W = 37,5 J
h = em
Wd= 3/2 Wt
g = 10m/s²
m=? kg
v =? m/s
Giải
* Thế năng của vật là :
W= Wd + Wt
Thay Wd = 3/2 Wt, ta có :
37,5 = 3/2 Wt + Wt = 5/2 Wt
=> Wt = 37,5×2 / 5 = 15 (J)
* Khối lượng của vật là:
Wt = mgh => 15= m×10×3
=> m = 15/30 = 0,5 (kg )
* Động năng và vận tốc của vật là:
Wd = 3/2 Wt= 3/2 × 15 = 22,5 (J)
Wd= 1/2 mv² => v²= 22,5 × 2 /0,5 = 90
=> v = √90 ≈ 9,49 ( m/s)
Tóm tắt
m=F = 200N
s = 10m
t = 5s
góc alpha= 60°
A =? J
P =?W
Giải
* Công của lực kéo là:
ADCT : A= F×s×cos a = 200×10×cos 60
= 1000(J )
* Công suất của người đó là:
ADCT : P = A/t = 1000/5 = 200 (W)
Kết luận
Công của lực kéo : 1000J
Công suất: 200W
