Accurate information is hard to come by, but the tradition is at least 200 years old. The Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake is an annual event held on the Spring Bank Holiday at Cooper’s Hill, near Gloucester in the Cotswolds region of England. It is traditionally by and for the people who live in the local village of Brockworth, but now people from all over the world take part. The event takes its name from the hill on which it occurs.

From the top of the hill a round of Double Gloucester cheese is rolled, and competitors race down the hill after it. The first person over the finish line at the bottom of the hill wins the cheese. In theory, competitors are aiming to catch the cheese; however it has around a one-second head start and can reach speeds up to 70 mph (112 km/h), enough to knock over and injure a spectator.

In the monkey buffet you can watch the monkeys drink coke directly from the can. In the past years the monkeys have consumed over four tons of food, not many people are agree with the type of diet that this monkeys have on this event, but what it is a fact is that this animals certainly enjoy their annual special meal. (Maria Ximena)

There are four people in my family: my parents, my younger sister and I. My father is a 45-year-old engineer. He spends most of his time in the building sites. That’s why he has a tanned skin. As soon as he comes home, he turns on the television to watch the news, relaxes for a while and then he takes a shower. In case my mother doesn’t cook for the dinner yet, my father is very happy to join hand and help her. Talk about my mother, she is a 40-year-old primary school teacher. In every morning, she is the one who wakes up earliest to prepare the breakfast, clothes and necessary things for my father, me and my sister. After we leave home to work or study, my mother will have a quick breakfast and drive to the primary school. After school, she runs fast to the market, buys some fresh food and backs to home to cook lunch. My father doesn’t come home in the noon so only three of us eat and talk to each other during lunch. However, the lunch is still prepared very scrupulous. In general, my mother is a gentel caring woman and sometimes she is very strict. I have a younger sister who will be 8 years old in the next October. My sister is pretty, docile and hard study. On every weekend, I take her to the park to have fun and we will buy some tasty ice creams. We quite close and sometimes she makes me very angry because of her negligent habit. The last person in my family is me. I am studying in the second year of Business Administration major at Hong Bang University. My schedule is changed frequently and I am also trying to get a scholarship to study abroad in Canada next year so I don’t spend much time to my family. But any time when I am free I try to help my mother in household chorces and take care of my sister. In my family, each person has a different responsibility but we always stand together to enjoy happiness moments, overcome the difficult time and solve the problems. I understand that there is nothing that is more important than my family. I love my parents and my lovely sister so much.

An important person who has influenced my life in most positive way is my mother. Nothing in the world can compare with the true love and care of my mother. She is not only my mother but also my friend and my great teacher. She taught me how to be brave, honest and kind to everyone. She also showed me how to give and take. Although she is very busy, she always spares her time for her family. She is always the first one to get up and prepare breakfast for us. She is the first person to come up my mind and movatie whenever I have  difficulties. In conclusion, I always consider my mom as the most perfect woman in the world and I do want to say ''I love you, mom. I can't live without you!''

My best friend is my classmate at school. She and I have been studying together since we entered school in kindergarten. We have studied together all these years. We also travel by the school bus together because we stay close to each other. Her home is only a ten minute walk from my place.

My friend is kindly and sweet-natured. We are always happy to be with each other. We enjoy studying, playing and eating together. If I am sad she will do all she can to make me smile and feel happy.

She has always been kind and helpful to me. When I miss school because I am unwell she comes to my place to share with me all that has been done at school. When she misses school I too help her with all that has been covered at school. We also play badminton together in the evenings.

My bedroom is the most comfortable place in my house. It becomes my favorite room since I lived in this house five years ago. Actually it is not too large, the width is just 4 x 4 meters, but it is clean enough. It looks like a small cottage with a bed placed in the corner of this room. The color of the bed cover is pink, so soft and calm. On this bed, there are a pillow, a bolster, and 15 cute dolls that always accompany me when I am sleeping. If you enter to my bedroom, you can see a table and a chair next to the bed as my place for study. You can feel the wind blowing from a big window that always make my room cosy and bright near the bed. You can also see a beautiful garden that is full of wonderful flowers from this window. It can change your bad mood to become more cheerful. At the opposite of the window, there is a large cupboard with Bali’s carving. The carving is so smooth and gorgeous. It looks like a carving in the great temple. If you see around my bedroom, you will find a colorful wall. It is combination of attractive colors like pink, violet and blue. The colors are mixed perfectly and it shows the girlie room. It is also completed with some artificial flowers near the window that decorate my room beautifully. I like to spend my time in this room. For me my bedroom is my little palace.

Bat Trang pottery village

This is a traditional village that has long been famous for pottery, porcelain, ... in the suburbs of Hanoi. At 7:45 am the convoy starts. Not only the students but also the teachers are eager to get to the place quickly. Along the way the students chattering, occasionally excited to see the strange scene: Red River has two massive new horizontal crossing, green muddy hills with buffalos, grazing grass, ... Soon, the car came to Bat Trang. After concentrating on listening to the instructors, students queue up to visit the pottery. Fortunately for our teacher is to visit one of the rare pottery pottery left over in Bat Trang village. Here the pottery is burnt with charcoal. This type of furnace has existed for a long time, but according to the furnace owner said, fired in this type of furnace product quality will not be the same but the workers are very hard. So, nowadays, most of the village has switched to gas stoves. Handcrafted ceramic kiln consists of three storeys, about 9m high, surrounded by charcoal, firewood and even bags for storing. It is called a bag, but it is made from fireproof ground, shaped like a millstone. The furnace owner said that in order to get the product sold to the market, she must be baked for 3 days. Uncle also describe us the steps to make a ceramic product: kneading soil, molding, drying, painting, dipping enamel, burning, ... Listen is simple but at every stage requires the potter must be very clever, sometimes even to the level of sophistication.
