I do not really “like” sharp-tongued behavior in general.

A sharp tongue can sometimes sound intelligent, funny, or confident, but it can also hurt people very quickly. Even when the words are technically true, the way they are said can create distance, embarrassment, or resentment.

I would separate two things:

Being sharp-minded:
This is often positive. It means quick thinking, clear judgment, and the ability to respond well.

Being sharp-tongued:
This is much riskier. It usually means speaking in a cutting, harsh, or sarcastic way.

I would not want to become sharp-tongued. I would rather be honest, precise, and calm. Strong communication is useful, but cruelty is not necessary. A person can be direct without being mean.

As for its effect on people around, it can be both positive and negative, but usually it becomes negative if used too often.

Possible positive effects:
It can stop nonsense quickly.
It can expose hypocrisy.
It can make someone seem confident or hard to manipulate.

Possible negative effects:
It can make others feel small or unsafe.
It can damage trust.
It can create fear instead of respect.
It can make conversations more defensive and less sincere.

So overall, I think sharp-tongued behavior may be effective in a few moments, but as a long-term way of dealing with people, it usually does more harm than good.

My view:
It is better to be witty than cruel, and better to be direct than cutting.
