I am a high school student. I go to school every day from Monday to Saturday. I am very busy with my studies. Sunday is my holiday. On Sunday morning, I get up later than usual. After breakfast, I come to my close friend’s and we often go shopping in the downtown areas. Sometimes we go on a picnic in the countryside. In the afternoon, I prefer having a rest in my room, reading books or listening to pop music. Then after dinner, I prepare my lessons for the following weekdays and go to bed early. Once in a while, I spend my weekend joining the social activities organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of my school. We usually go along the streets raising money for charity or travel to remote areas to give help to poor people. Sunday is a good time for me. It refreshes my mind after a week’s hard work.

It is summer and we are having a summer vocation.Our Seastar centre give us a trip to Iresort,a beautyful water park.There are alot of pools here.SOme are for children,some are for grown-ups.In the morning,we play games.Mr,Khanh have a hair tie for the boys contest.We girls tie hair for them.Oh,how funny to see the boys with chicken tails on their head.Then,we have a worm crawl contest.I take the lead of a group and my group win successfully.Last,we have singing contest.Our voices are nice to hear.Soon,we have lunch and an ice-cream for dessert.In the afternoon,we have fun in the pools.So fun!Finally,we go back home.What a fun day.

Dear Nguyen, my best friend.

How are you? I want to write to you to tell you about my summer holiday.

I went to visit my grandparents. After that, I went out very happily at the park with my dear family. At dinners, I gather with my family and I hear a lot of funny stories that my parents tell.

But besides that, I also have to prepare for my new school year, and every year. I was sent to extra school by my parents, and I met many new friends and very lovely teachers.

Although summer vacation is actually not fun with games, I feel very happy and wish it was forever summer so that I could rest, play and study so comfortably.

CAN YOU ADVISE ME?

I am writing to you because I would like become => to become a journalist when I leave school. Since you are the editor ò the local newspaper, I hope that you many be able to give me some advice about what I should to=>X do. I have written some articles during my spare time and I am enclosing two of them. I hope that you won't mind looking at them and telling me whether you think they are good or not. I would appreciate any comments you make because I am keen to learn. I also wonder if you could advise me about a few other matters. Do you think it is the better=>the best to do a course in journalism at a college ỏ to try to get a job as a junior reporter as soon as I finish school? Do newpapers prefer to employ people with a qualification in hournalism or to train them while they are actually doing the jobs? Another question I would like to ask is, would you advise me to specialise in one kind of report, such as politics, or it is advisable to know a little bit about a lot of subjects? I am sure that you are very busy but I would be grateful for any advise=>advice you could give me. Finally, would it be possible to come into the newpaper offices one day so that I could see how a real newpaper operate? I would welcome the opportunity to do that.
