✅ 1. Khi nào thêm “s”?

Chủ yếu dùng cho:

• Động từ chia ngôi thứ ba số ít (He/She/It) ở hiện tại đơn:
• • play → plays
  • read → reads
  • cook → cooks
• Danh từ số nhiều thông thường:
• • cat → cats
  • book → books
  • car → cars

✅ 2. Khi nào thêm “es”?

Thêm “es” khi từ kết thúc bằng các âm sau:

s, x, ch, sh, z, o
Ví dụ:

• pass → passes
• fix → fixes
• watch → watches
• wash → washes
• buzz → buzzes
• tomato → tomatoes

✅ 3. Một số trường hợp đặc biệt:

• Từ kết thúc bằng phụ âm + “y” → đổi “y” thành “i” rồi thêm “es”:
• • baby → babies
  • study → studies
  • fly → flies
• Từ kết thúc bằng nguyên âm + y thì chỉ thêm “s”:
• • toy → toys
  • play → plays

✅ Tổng kết mẹo nhỏ dễ nhớ:

• Nếu từ bình thường → thêm s
• Nếu từ kết thúc bằng s, x, ch, sh, z, o → thêm es
• Nếu từ kết thúc bằng phụ âm + y → đổi y thành i + es
